per bug 1203186 a new branch is wanted.
BTW, do we want to branch other repos under https://github.com/mozilla-b2g?

In the past we used to branch and freeze some repos.
Fabrice, do you think that something like https://github.com/mozilla-b2g/b2g-manifest/compare/master...rail:v2.5?expand=1 would make sense? Or would you prefer to adjust the manifests whenever you need?
Let me know if I should ask someone else.

For 2.5 I think we want to branch & freeze, but I was not involved in this process for previous release branches. I'd like very much to have a second opinion here! Mahe?

I will find out what was done in the past and weigh in accordingly. Thanks for the NI Fabrice.

We talked about this yesterday. Unless there is no objection, on Monday I'm going to:
1) create v2.5 in gaia and b2g-manifests
2) use b2g-manifests to figure out what repos under github.com/mozilla-b2g should be branched
3) branch repos from step 2)
4) use b2g-manifests to figure out what other repos should be frozen (the ones we use, but can't branch)
5) mangle the manifests to include v2.5 or frozen revisions for projects in use
Does it sound sane?

Rail, on top of that, we need a gecko repo (something like b2g44_v2.5), right?

Yup, this is bug 1218047. The repo is up, but not ready for pushes yet.

There is a change in plans. The uplift day has been moved to this Friday (in 2 days). Any stoppers?

Based on our discussion with RyanVM I think this looks like a good list. Thanks Rail
