Details

I'd like a way to non-interactively install .xpi packages from the command line. I frequently download the latest nightly version of Mozilla, and this blows away and extensions or XUL apps I've installed from .xpi file. Rather than manually reinstall them each time, I'd like to handle the reinstallation in the shell script that handles the fetching and installation of the Mozilla tarball. While I've marked the OS for the RFE as "Linux", this enhancement could be applied on an UNIX OS, or any OS that make heavy use of the command line.
I'd like to see that on win32 as well -- same problem here, I download the nightly every (workday) morning, an unnattended install option would be great! And I do believe this is a "must have" for mozilla to be accepted in business environments: our corporate IT dept is responsible for some 10.000 PCs, they'd NEVER EVER install oder support any product, if the [re|un]installation is not "scriptable". Change OS to "All" ?
