This check was added as a warning in:

The warning was upgraded to an assertion in:

Does not crash non-debug builds.

The bug cannot be reproduced, there is no indication of a recent occurrance and the cause has most likely become fixed by now. Let's reopen this bug if the test case begins to fail again, or open a new bug if the assert, which still exists in the code base, is triggered.
