in cases where we have >1 device with the same platform (e.g. osx 10.10.2/10.10.5 and autophone android 4.3 nexus7/nexus6) it would be nice to specify a custom name to differentiate the data.

I recall filing a bug on this in the past, but I am unable to find it!
Yes, we should probably do this at some point.
Still an issue AFAIK, not sure how important it is.
