This is on a Nexus 5, both in Aurora 44 and Nightly 45 - when leaving Editing Mode, not infrequently there is a flash in the bar.

The attached screencast shows the flash on the second pass of leaving editing mode.

I was thinking we might attach two separate animators that aren't running in sync when we do the translation, causing the background colors to be shown underneath the two ImageViews for each of the toolbar buttons. In theory, this might also be caused by rounding errors.

We could try to solve this by looking into ^,  adding overdraw and drawing a background color under these elements, or investigating more to really know what's going on. :)
