Steps to reproduce:
1. Install https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/pcman-bbs-extension/ and restart
2. Paste telnet://ptt.cc in addressbar, press Enter.
Actual results:
Browser opened search results for "telnet://ptt.cc" in current page.
Expected results:
Open the BBS terminal

With Firefox 57 only WebExtensions are permitted and are, by default, e10s compatible.
