User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_10_5) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/46.0.2490.86 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce: 1. Open a https site. In my case I opened Gmail (https://mail.google.com) 2. Click on links in the site that cause a pop up window to open. I clicked the "Track package" special link that Gmail had added to one of my emails concerning a package. 3. Popup blocker will say that popup is blocked. 4. Go to edit popup blocker preferences to whitelist the site. 5. The site name is already prefilled in the form to whitelist. In my case it was filled as mail.google.com. 6. Click add to add the site to whitelist 6. Actual results: On adding the site to whitelist, it gets added as http://mail.google.com. Due to this, popup blocker is still enabled for https://mail.google.com. So unless I go and manually type https://mail.google.com and whitelist it, popups will continue to be blocked though the user expects it to work when they add the autofilled entry to the whitelist since they are on a https site already. Expected results: The prefilled value should have https:// prefixed to the autofilled entry. Perhaps the whitelist could be added at a per-domain level irrespective of http or https.
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64; rv:45.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/45.0 20151125030231 (In reply to L. Guruprasad from comment #0) > 4. Go to edit popup blocker preferences to whitelist the site. Meaning click either the location bar blocked pop-up icon or the notification bar's Options button, then choose “Edit Pop-up Blocker Options…”. “Allow pop-ups for <domain name>” adds the appropriate exception.

Summary: Issues adding a https website to pop-up blocker whitelist when popups are blocked for the site → Edit Pop-up Blocker Options… prefilled value results in non-working HTTP exception for HTTPS site
This bug is still here today, in firefox 51.0.1. As said Guruprasad it would be better to autofill with the right protocol used by the website (HTTP or HTTPS), because the Pop ups are still blocked if you allow the website with default options, which is not the result expected.
