Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:40.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/40.0 Build ID: 20150826023504 Steps to reproduce: Log in to the Wordpress admin panel, which is under an IDN domain name. (If a staff working on this issue wants to reproduce the problem on my site, please send a private request and I will give you the link and login data.) Actual results: In the address bar the proper address of wp-admin is visible, but the page did not load. The following error message is displayed on the page: "Server not found Firefox can't find the server at f%c3%a9rjp%c3%b3tl%c3%b3munk%c3%a1latok.hu." Next: if I click on the address bar and press enter, then the admin page will load, and the login appears to be successful. Similar errors occur when plugins are activated, or some other changes made while editing the website, and a Rolodex is not working either on a theme settings panel. Expected results: The WordPress admin panel should load automatically without error message. No errors should occur when activating plugins. The Rolodex on the settings page should work properly.
The described bugs don't occur in Firefox when the website is under a non-IDN (standard) domain name. The bugs don't occur in Google Chrome, not even if the website is under an IDN domain name, as described in the bug report.

Hi Zoltan, This issue is probably connected to the IDN redirect issue from bug 1142083. This should have been fixed recently in bug 412457. Could you check if you can reproduce the issue in the latest Firefox Nightly? Thanks

(In reply to Valentin Gosu [:valentin] from comment #2) Thanks Valentin, I have just tested the issue in the latest Nightly and the problem has been resolved. This Bug 1228639 is not present in the latest Nightly. Which next stable Firefox build will contain the fix, and when is it expected to be available? Thanks again for the quick solution.

Hi Zoltan, the fix is in Firefox 45 which will hit release in a few months. Thanks for reporting the issue.
