VERIFIED DUPLICATE of bug 123399

Details

I cannot get a cursor in the composer window and am unable to insert text. Most of the composer-related menu items and buttons don't work. The insert menu options in the email composer don't work. All of these problems appear in the 2002020208 and following builds; builds previous to and including 2002020121 are OK.
Reporter: This is not a "critical" bug ("crashes, loss of data, severe memory leak"). Please set a more appropriate severity level. Thank you for using Bugzilla!

actaully, this would be a smoketest blocker (sounds like composer is nearly unusable).

I haven't tried the latest trunk bits, but if this is indeed happening, we better fix it soon. CC bryner (is this the same focus weirdness that you reported in another bug?)
I could reproduce these symptoms in my optimized build until I nuked component.reg. Tom, do you build yourself? If so, please delete dist/bin/component.reg and retest?
I don't do my own builds - I use the nightlies. I tried moving component.reg in /usr/local/mozilla out of the way and restarting but the problem remains.
This is a DUP of bug 123399...I know this bug was filed earlier, but we have a lot of comments in the other one.... *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 123399 ***
