Overview Description: Messenger 'freezes' when replying to a replied HTML Message. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Start messenger using Task | Messenger. 2. Compose and send a html message to yourself. 3. Read that message and do a reply to that message. 4. Again read that replied message. (Subject shows "Re: blah blah") 5. Click reply to this message. Messenger 'freezes'. :-( Build Date & Platform Bug Found: ftp://sweetlou/products/client/seamonkey/windows/32bit/x86/1999-08-20-16-M9/ . Win NT 4.0. Additional Builds and Platforms Tested On: Same build on Win98. (Esther's system).
Suresh, have you tried to narrow down the content? What happens if you have just an original message that had the same contents as the replied message? What happens if your replied message is blank (ie. clear out the content)?
Severity: normal → critical
Lisa, 1. If I exchange mails using 5.0 then it freezes, no matter what the contents of the message are. I tried sending mails from pop to pop, both, to itself (qatest36 to qatest36) and using two different pop accounts (qatest36 to qatest04). 2. If I exchange mails using 5.0 and 4.x then it doesn't freezes. The 5.0 test account is qatest36 (pop) and 4.x is my 'suresh'. 3. Unfortunately I couldn't test exchanging emails between pop and imap, since my system freezes when I do imap operation.

Looks like I fixed it when I fixed the missing opening BLOCKQUOTE tag. I was able to reproduce it before but now works fine for me. I went up to 4 levels of reply without problem. I also get correctly the blue line in the left margin of the original message.
