Details

Once upgraded to a build of Firefox 43 with gtk+3 enabled scrolling behaviour regressed from native smooth scrolling to regular stepped scrolling from pre-gtk+3 era.

As far as I can see this is also present in firefox nightly (didn’t check if they have gtk+3 enabled, though)
Blocks: gtk3
Fixed grammar :)

Once I upgraded to a gtk+3 enabled build of Firefox 43, the scrolling behaviour regressed from native smooth scrolling to regular stepped scrolling which can was experienced in gtk+2 builds.
Probably related to bug 1207973, meaning that in Firefox 44 or later, you can re-enable smooth scrolling using MOZ_USE_XINPUT2=1 .

FYI, it was deactivated due to bug 1170342.
Why exactly end user experience is sacrificed for whatever infrastructure issues? Maybe mochitest should just set an `IS_TEST_ENVIRONMENT=1` on which XINPUT2 would get disabled and have it enabled by default for end users?
Not just infrastructure issues. The XINPUT2 support in the server and GTK is not yet ready for use.
