Details

From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:0.9.7) Gecko/20011221 BuildID: 20010205 The 0.9.8 release will not install on either of my RedHat systems. One is 7.1, one is 7.2, but they are both essentially stock systems. I've tried installing in various directories as myself and as root, but get the same errors. It doesn't seem to matter whether the directory exists or not. May be related to bug 89436, although that bug occured *after* successfully downloading all components, and this happens before any download has happened. That bug also happened mostly on the nightly builds. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Download new 0.9.8 talkback Linux build 2. Uncompress & run mozilla-installer 3. 'Typical' installation, put in either /usr/local/mozilla or ~/mozilla 4. Hit 'Install' 5. Installer stalls with no progress shown on progress meter (~ 2 min) 6. Blank window comes up (or sometimes, 'Failed to download some files -- retrying') 7. Installer crashes with message: ./mozilla-installer: line 55: 11266 Segmentation fault ./mozilla-installer-bin --sync $@ Actual Results: Installer crashes w/o downloading or installing any code. Expected Results: 0.9.7 worked fine.
