It's not 28 MB - but more importantly: "It's ok to select a Typical MySQL install (the default)." There is no such thing. Default is for "developers" which requires installing lot's of stuff BZ does not need.

There is no need to specify the size of the installer, I agree. The installer changed a bit, and we indeed want the "developers" option most of the time. But this shouldn't be specified in our documentation either. The installer is clear enough.

I suggest the developers option is inappropriate for those who just want to use BZ and have no interest in doing MySQL developments. It forces one to down load and install a bunch of irrelevant stuff. I don't agree the installer is clear once one abandons the developer option. Do we need client or server or both to run BZ - I certainly have no idea! And the last option is a disaster to the uninitiated without specific instructions. Maybe this is all why my trial installation is not working!!

And yes, you want both a DB server and client.
I admit I am only guessing from the names, so after this I will shut up and simply take your advice! But do I really need: Connector/Python Connector/C++ connector/NET MySQL workbench MySQL for Excel MySQL for VisualStudio If I do, maybe that's why my install failed?
