User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:43.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/43.0
Build ID: 20151216175450
Steps to reproduce:
When I type <CTRL>+<F> on the keyboard to perform a text search, it happened to me several times now with the current version of Firefox that my find input text gets cleared right while I'm typing.
I can't tell what the prerequisites are for this to happen. But when it happens with a page I can reproduce the error until I refresh the page again. Then the faulty behaviour disappears.
Actual results:
I hit <CTRL>+<F> for entering the find text box and started typing. While I was typing, the text in the find input text box got randomly cleared by Firefox.
I have attached an animated GIF demonstrating the issue. I have been trying to enter "abcedfg" several times. As you can see from the GIF, some status messages appeared randomly and the text box got cleared while I was typing.
Expected results:
Text entered into the find text box should remain steady while I'm typing.

Your GIF doesn't show the findbar in the state when it's opened with CTRL+F, but with '/' or ''' - Quick find.
I don't think the text input field should reset in the quick find mode, put still it's a notable difference.
Can you reproduce this issue on a fresh profile as well?

Actually I haven't been able to reproduce the issue since the day I reported it.
I don't know what caused the issue, but it never occured to me again.
Please close.
