Details

I open the browser and mail/news at the same time. The location bar is blank when I do this and typing in it doesn't bring up any autocomplete hits. Clicking on links, tool bar buttons, etc doesn't change this, the location bar is still blank. Additional browser windows are fine.
This happens on every installation of 0.9.8 I've seen. Work and home, two people at work. The only thing that does show up in the location bar is the favicon
i have experienced similar behavior with linux/0.9.8. - when i start mozilla with web+mail, the lb is blank in the web window. - autocomplete does not have any hits when i type. - when i type a url in the lb, it opens a copy of the current page (*not* the url) in a new tab, and blanks the lb. as a workaround, i disabled "crtl-enter in lb opens new tab" and only launch the web window with mozilla now. however, autocomplete is still not finding any hits.
"as a workaround, i disabled "crtl-enter in lb opens new tab" and only launch the web window with mozilla now. however, autocomplete is still not finding any hits." I have already have this disabled, but it still doesn't work. Otherwise I see *exactly* the behavior you do.
