User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; rv:43.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/43.0 Build ID: 20151216175450 Steps to reproduce: Created a different profile using firefox -p, and check the update settings. Actual results: Each profile has its own update settings. Expected results: Since updates apply to each profile, update settings should be global; new profiles should inherit the current setting. Additionally, the options panel should indicate which settings are global, (and which apply to the current account or profile only).

Why global? Profiles need to stay independant, a user can use various versions of Firefox with various profiles.

I agree with this point of view, it needs to set a global coverage at least, I cannot to turn off the updates in each profiles, including new profiles. Nevertheless, it appears to be a dupe of bug 317703.
