124180 - Ask password for NNTP server with free and protected newsgroups

Some NNTP servers have both free and password protected newsgroups. The latest
are not shown in the groups list after setting up the account, so it's
impossible to subscribe to them.

With Netscape 4.x you can solve the problem checking "Always ask me for username
and password" in the server settings, but it isn't a good solution: it would be
better to be able to set this per newsgroup.

OK, bugs 39862 and 94439 will solve part of this problem. I wasn't able to find
them...

It would be nice if the features expressed in the comment #12 for bug 39862 will
be implemented too.
