When Firefox is started in safe mode, all pages but about:preferences are blanked.

it was "45.0a2 (2016-01-25)" (I run Firefox developer edition)

this has been happening for a while (I've noticed since I got a Hi-Dpi screen almost one year ago). It has occurred with every version of firefox ever since ; I almost always have e10s disabled.

I will attempt to identify which plugin is causing it, fairly certain it's last pass as it's really the only one I use.

sorry, my earlier answer was about another bug.

Build was correct however.

I just updated this morning which moved me to 46.0a2 and this bug is no longer occurring.

Ok, this is excellent news.  45-e10s will not be going to release and should only be offered on 45 beta as part of some experiments.  I'll this leave in e10s triage to determine if whatever difference between versions here should be uplifted or not. My guess is not.
