When try to sign some one e-mail with a valid key (with certificate) pops-up a
message windows saying:
"Sendig of message failed.
Please verify that your mail & newsgroups account settings are correct and try
again"
When I deselect the option "Options/Security/Digitally Sign" or desactivte the
option "Edit/Mail & Newsgroups Account Settings/(Account)/Security/../Digitally
Sign Messages", I can send the e-mail.
The same configuration in Windows works (Same Certs and Keys DB).
Thanks in Advance

I can not reproduce this problem using 2002-02-18-06-trunk build in Linux Red
Hat 7.2
Did you follow the guideline in
http://www.mozilla.org/projects/security/pki/psm/smime_guide.html
for how to use S/MIME?
Note that you must select both a signing certificate and an encryption
certificate before you can start sending signed messages.
If you still see the same problem, can you provide more detail steps on how to
reproduce your problem? (like how did you setup your cert and mail account
setting). Thx.

This problem occurs under Solaris Platform from Mozilla release 0.97 (when was
implemented the S/MIME) until the lastest version available (0.98 20020205).
The problem occurs when try to sign an e-mail with a valid key (that key was
tested with mozilla for Windows and works ok).
When try to send a signed e-mail, the dialog window described in the first
report, pops up.
The key was configured in the Mail & Newsgroups Account
Settings/Security/..../Digitally Sign Messages, and match with the sender e-mail
address.
I don't test the Linux version.

Closed - works when both signing and encryption are set.
moz doesn't support signing only at this time.
