I'm connecting with someone on a bad wifi connection. After the connection terminates unexpectedly I get the message: "Connection failed. Your firewall may be blocking calls" – but note the connection had already been successfully made, and the connection problem was not on my side.
Room: https://loop-webapp-dev.stage.mozaws.net/ELRzqjsHSaY Time: about a minute before I submitted this (Note the bug isn't that the connection failed – that was expected given a bad wifi connection – but that the message implies a network error on MY side, not the other person's side, and it doesn't acknowledge that a connection was made.)

Depends on: 1210501
In Bug 1210501 we have some descriptions of better error messages, or error messages that are less generic. But given that we have a generic error message, we propose changing the language to be generic, i.e., "Connection failed" without any mention of firewalls.

Yes, let's simply change the string to "Connection failed" (without "Your firewall might be blocking calls")
Rank: 29
Priority: -- → P2
Summary: Standalone says "Connection failed. Your firewall may be blocking calls." when the other party disconnects → Simplify string "Connection failed. Your firewall may be blocking calls." to "Connection failed"
