User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.10; rv:44.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/44.0
Build ID: 20160123151951
Steps to reproduce:
• open Firefox with a certain profile, say "dev"
• open a new Firefox with another profile, say "clean" (in the terminal, /path/to/ffox -P clean
• now we have 2 instances of Firefox
• press cmd-tab (on MacOSX, different shortcut for different OS) to switch from a Firefox instance to another
Actual results:
I see 2 identical Firefox icons, which are impossible to distinguish: you have to remember the last focused instance, often you miss it and just have to switch again to the other one, which is difficult again as (at least on MacOSX) in the application switcher last and first-to-last icons get swapped each time.
Expected results:
I'd like to see the name of the profile beside the label "Firefox", like for example "Firefox:dev", "Firefox:clean", as in the attached mockup (animated gif).

The Show Profile add-on provides this feature.
https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/show-profile/
Severity: normal → enhancement
Component: Untriaged → Shell Integration
OS: Unspecified → All
Hardware: Unspecified → All
Thanks for the advice, I tried it but it does not add the profile name to the application name in the switcher.
