On certain messages Mail hangs when I view All Headers. I've checked the headers and cannot find any errors or anything which looks different. I'm reporting it here in the hope others see this, and will continue looking for a pattern. If I view the message headers in the preview pane, it always happens on the same messages. I select the message, then press the wee 'arrow' pointing right to expand the headers. Mozilla then uses 100% CPU and has to be killed from the Task Manager. If I open a window separately by double-clicking the message, and then view the headers it works fine. I copied my Mail folder to a different user account, and the problem disappeared, pointing me to something with my settings potentially causing this. It happens on both messages with and without attachments. The steps I take; 1. Ensure 'View->Headers->All' is selected 2. Highlight suspicious message in Inbox 3. Select the view headers button in preview pane
I have 3 (of 20) messages in my inbox where 'View Headers' hang mozilla as described. These 3 messages all have the 'References:' tag, and no other message in my inbox has this tag. Each of these messages come from different senders, and actually, via different source ISPs and mailers, varying from Outlook to NS 4.75. Deleting the 'References:' tag line from the Inbox using Notepad makes the problem go away.

Check if the whole header can fit in the window, i.e. try it on big resolution. References: doesn't seem to be special in any way except that it can grow really huge in long threads, thus causing "all headers" not to fit in the window. If this is the case, then it's a dup of Bug#:128809.
