The NotoSansCJKsc-Regular font

allows the OpenType 'locl' mechanism to select between SC, TC, Japanese, and Korean characters.
I confirmed on Linux that Japanese glyphs are displayed if a web page uses a "UTF-8" charset, such as https://ja.wikipedia.org.
But on Japanese pages with a "Shift_JIS" charset declared, Chinese variants are displayed, instead of Japanese variants. For example:
