Details
Scenario -------- Press Ctrl+Shift+C Actual results -------------- Devtools / Inspector tab opens. Expected results ---------------- Devtools / Inspector tab opens, **in "Pick element with mouse" mode**. -> To get into the desired mode where I can pick DOM elements with the mouse, I have to reach for the tiny "Pick an element from the page" button at the left of the devtools toolbar. Is this a desired UX change? That would feel weird, because: - It's been this way for ages (since Firebug), and behaves the same in Chrome. - More importantly, going directly in "Pick element with mouse" mode is super direct and convenient. Environment ----------- Firefox Developer Edition 46.0a2 (2016-02-16) Fresh new profile Ubuntu 14.04.3 x86_64
Let's track this in bug 1245654. The change was made on purpose, but we're aware it has surprised some people.
