Details

From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:0.9.8+) Gecko/20020208 BuildID: 2002020803 When the "Hide the tab bar when only one tab is open" pref is unchecked and only one tab is open, trying to close that tab does nothing. I think mozilla should leave the current web page and show a blank tab instead (load about:blank). The user tries to close the tab (leave the site) for a reason, and his or her decision must be honoured. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. At Preferences/Navigator/Tabbed browsing, uncheck "Hide the tab bar when only one tab is open" 2. Only have one tab open 3. Load a web site 4. To leave the site, try to close the tab Actual Results: Nothing happens. Expected Results: Because this is the last tab, and cannot actually be closed, about:blank should be shown instead.
I think that this bug should be dupped to bug 109651 where there's a request to disable the close button on the last tab. If that bug gets fixed then it won't be possible to load about:blank by clicking the button.
