str : go to twitch.tv open a stream (preferably good quality, good network) watch it in page mode -> no lag, no freeze of any sort put it in full screen (from twitch video window button) result : get constant freezes of 3 to 10 second expected result : no freeze i check my video drivers (and updated), flash options, firefox options, (i also blamed new twitch https policy but i can't change that) -> no change got back to firefox 44.0.2 -> no freeze also intel hd graphics drivers

Could you provide an example of Twitch stream which doesn't work in FS on your computer, please. In addition, type about:support in the location bar and paste the section "graphics". Does it work with a fresh profile? https://support.mozilla.org/fr/kb/utiliser-gestionnaire-profils-creer-supprimer-profils

with firefox 45 and a fresh profile: it doesn't freeze at all the graphic section differs from the old and fresh profiles: old: Date du pilote 11-15-2013 Description de la carte Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000 Direct2D activé true DirectWrite activé true (6.2.9200.17568) Fenêtres avec accélération graphique 0/1 Basic GPU 2 actif false ID du périphérique 0x0166 ID du sous-système 21f317aa ID du vendeur 0x8086 Pilotes de la carte igdumdim64 igd10iumd64 igd10iumd64 igdumdim32 igd10iumd32 igd10iumd32 Prise en charge matérielle pour le décodage H264 No; Unsupported layers backend RAM de la carte Unknown Rendu WebGL Google Inc. -- ANGLE (Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000 Direct3D9Ex vs_3_0 ps_3_0) Version du pilote 9.18.10.3359 windowLayerManagerRemote false Zoom/Panoramique asynchrones aucun AzureCanvasBackend direct2d 1.1 AzureContentBackend direct2d 1.1 AzureFallbackCanvasBackend cairo AzureSkiaAccelerated 0 fresh: Date du pilote 11-15-2013 Description de la carte Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000 Direct2D activé true DirectWrite activé true (6.2.9200.17568) * Fenêtres avec accélération graphique 1/1 Direct3D 11 (OMTC) GPU 2 actif false ID du périphérique 0x0166 ID du sous-système 21f317aa ID du vendeur 0x8086 Pilotes de la carte igdumdim64 igd10iumd64 igd10iumd64 igdumdim32 igd10iumd32 igd10iumd32 * Prise en charge matérielle pour le décodage H264 Yes RAM de la carte Unknown * Rendu WebGL Google Inc. -- ANGLE (Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000 Direct3D11 vs_5_0 ps_5_0) Version du pilote 9.18.10.3359 * windowLayerManagerRemote true Zoom/Panoramique asynchrones aucun AzureCanvasBackend direct2d 1.1 AzureContentBackend direct2d 1.1 AzureFallbackCanvasBackend cairo AzureSkiaAccelerated 0 checking the differences in the configs, apparently it was "layers.offmainthreadcomposition.enabled: false" which once set to true (default) - plus a restart - first changed the values of the graphic section to those on the fresh profile and then made the freezes disappear in twitch full screen still, my apparently **** profile was working fine with firefox 44.0.2 (and the freezes were freaking real with firefox 45, whatever the stream and/or the quality - just take the current most popular stream, providing it plays fluently in window mode, once in full screen the video freezes constantly: every 2-30 seconds the video freezes for about 2-15 seconds - while the audio continues to play, even the firefox full-screen-button-animation freezes along)

With a fresh profile, HWA and OMTC are enabled by default. Anyway your Intel drivers are too old, you should find drivers from 2015 for Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000.
Jeff - can we remove the OMTC pref?

(In reply to Anthony Jones (:kentuckyfriedtakahe, :k17e) from comment #4) > Jeff - can we remove the OMTC pref? I've filed Bug 1259466

There are known issues with live streaming in Intel HD 4000 and old driver versions. You could try updating your graphics drivers. Twitch.tv still uses Flash for live streaming, so moving this to plugins.
