Sync hasn't been working correctly for a long time (no way to create new account with current SM versions), and Sync. 1 Service has been dropped by Mozilla September 2015.

Sync should not be listed as a SeaMonkey feature.

BTW: is "Venkman" really still the current Javascript Debugger?

We should remove this. Or point to the Pale Moon Sync 1.1 server. Of course this won't be suitable for people who want to sync with Firefox.

No. It's dead Jim. Will be replaced by the Firefox DevTools.

Someone found an obstacle:

I will check that later.

Not at all. "Bug 998807 - Sync account creation or device pairing fails with exception in BrowserIDManager" is concerning a problem with Sync itself, this one is concerning SeaMonkey project website contents

You're correct. The problem I reported on the blog shows the same symptom as bug 998807, but this bug is different.

Firefox Accounts (Sync v2) is large and has many moving parts and probably not suitable for SeaMonkey. We may want to set up our own Sync 1.1 server like Pale Moon.

I'm surprised and confused by this statement. From all I know, we have permission to use the official Firefox Accounts and Sync servers, and FxA and current Sync is actually less complex than Sync 1.1 is overall.

And FWIW, the ability to Sync with Firefox for Android and iOS would be a really good feature, but if we'd run Sync 1.1 that would not work.
