[Affected versions]:
- 45.0.2 (Build ID: 20160407164938)
- 46 beta 9 (Build ID: 20160407053945)
- Latest Developer Edition 47.0a2 (from 2016-04-07)
- Latest Nightly 48.0a1 (from 2016-04-07)
[Affected platforms]:
- Mac OS X 10.10.5
- Ubuntu 14.04 64-bit
- Windows 7 64-bit
[Steps to reproduce]:
1. Launch Firefox with a clean profile and click Hello icon.
2. Click 'Sign In or Sign Up'.
3. Follow the steps to create an account or sign in (Additional notes see 2)
[Expected result]:
Hello button does not change color and the panel is displayed (as in 44, or any other way to notify the user).
[Actual result]:
Hello button turns blue and 'You are sharing your tabs' tooltip is visible at mouse over.
[Regression range]:
- Not reproducible with 44 beta 8 - after signing in, the Hello panel is automatically displayed along with the Tour.
- Reproducible with 45 beta 1 when Hello add-on version 0.1 - as far as I can see, this is a Hello as a system add-on regression.
[Additional notes]:
1. Screenshot attached.
2. With sign in option, this issue is intermittently visible. When not reproducible, the button turns blue for a second and switches back to its initial state.

There isn't a regression as described here.
The original intention was that on sign-in, the Hello button would turn blue until the next action with Hello.
The only issue I can see is that it now seems to "flicker" staying on blue for a second or so and then dropping back.
Sevaan, should we be sticking with the original functionality at the moment?

No, it is not necessary to turn the icon blue after signing in to an account.

I'll flag it for triage for our normal process. I don't think this is a P1 unless you know a reason I don't.
