I started perusing the guides and noticed that some had no content, or very little content, and sometimes not relevant content.

The macros use the $children API, and these documents just don't have child pages:

That led me to believe that this was either a Guide project that never got past one or two pages, or that the pages had been moved to the Web/API topic:

We are killing the Guide tree, moving it to API.

Nobody does a search: I want a guide. Ok I have a list of guide, let's choose a subject.
