[Affected versions]: - Firefox 45.0.2 (Hello v1.1.14) - Firefox 46 beta 10 (Hello v1.2.6) - latest Developer Edition 47.0a2 (Hello v1.2.6) - latest Nightly 48.0a1 (Hello v1.2.6) [Affected platforms]: - Mac OS X 10.10.5 [Steps to reproduce]: Layout issue: STR: 1. Open Firefox 2. Click Hello icon and leave the panel open 3. Detach lowdpi monitor Misplaced panel: 1. Open Firefox 2. Click Hello icon 3. Move Firefox to lowdpi screen 4. Click Hello icon and close panel 5. Detach lowdpi monitor 6. Click Hello icon [Expected result]: - Hello panel is correctly placed and displayed. [Actual result]: - Panel is misplaced (just the first time it's opened) and layout issues can be seen (it will recover after restarting browser) [Regression range]: - Not quite sure if this is a regression, will check asap. [Additional notes]: - Pocket does not have this issue. - Please let me know if these issues should be addressed separately so I can log a separate bug for one of them.
This doesn't really relate to bug 890156 (per-monitor DPI support on Windows), it's an OS X issue that predates the work there; changing "blocks" to bug 785330. I'm not sure if we'll end up needing to address two separate issues here; let's leave it as is for now and see what further investigation turns up....
Blocks: osx-hidpi
No longer blocks: 890156
Similar issues can happen with the Downloads and Bookmarks panels, if they're open when a secondary monitor is detached (or attached) and this causes the Firefox window to move between retina and non-retina screens. Oddly, the Pocket panel and the hamburger menu panel, although they look visually like similar elements, don't seem to suffer from this.
Oh, and the Sharing panel (airplane button) seems to be immune, too. I wish we didn't have quite so many different implementations of "display a drop-down panel from a toolbar button...."
Support for Hello/Loop has been discontinued. https://support.mozilla.org/kb/hello-status Hence closing the old bugs. Thank you for your support.
