These media decode errors make up more than half of Amazon's playback errors. They're triggered for encrypted and unencrypted video in Firefox and other browsers.
Removing from list of widevine-uplift bugs because this affects all browsers. It is probably a bug in the Amazon video player.

Amazon reports MEDIA_ERR_DECODE accounts for about 70% of all playback errors.

Since this is perhaps an issue on the Amazon Video side - should we be reaching out to them via our DL? Or is it something that we've already made them aware off - and awaiting feedback and/or retesting?

cpearce: is there anything we need to investigate for Amazon MEDIA_ERR_DECODE Widevine errors? IIRC, this bug was primarily encoding problems in Amazon's streams, not a Firefox bug.

This was fixed by bug 1296453 and others. I think we just never got around to closing this bug.
