This is e10s specific issue when shim is disabled. When e10s is disabled, the addon works fine regadless of the shim status (true or false). Steps to Reproduce: 1.Install addon from https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/awesome-screenshot-capture-/?src=search 2.Go to about:config 3.Set 'extensions.interposition.enabled' to 'false' to disable shim 4.Access https://pinterest.com/ 5.Select an option from the addon menu to take screenshot Actual Result: Addon does not take screenshot. Expected Result: Addon should take screenshot with e10s enabled and shim disabled.

Highly related but not 100% the same. Bug 1271725 is specific to mac which is the addon [awesome screenshot] does not function in e10s enabled Firefox with shim enabled or not. Unlike mac, in windows and Linux the addon works fine with e10s and shim enabled. When shim is disabled and e10s is enabled, the addon does not work in all platforms.Which is this bug is about.

What version of Awesome Screenshot were you testing? According to its version history a new release came out on June 7. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/awesome-screenshot-capture-/versions/?page=1#version-2.4.11 Any way to tell if the new version fixes the issue?

I can still able to reproduce this with version 2.4.11. But it is no more reproducible with the addon's latest version,3.0.7.

resolving unless beta shows some issues - all awesome screen shot issues should be resolved. no longer use shims. this was in the late July fix that they worked on with our testing.
