User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:46.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/46.0
Build ID: 20160425115534
Steps to reproduce:
Browse the web. The crash most often happens on youtube. Some videos work, others make firefox crash. One video which always triggers the crash is: http://g-ecx.images-amazon.com/images/G/01/gateway/yiyiz/B014MGIN42_video._CB297030377_.mp4 (I have a local copy of the video if the link goes invalid, but i dont know if i am allowed to attach it here due to copyright issues.)
Actual results:
As soon as the video (or any other ff-crashing video) plays, firefox crashes instantly.

Summary: Crash when playing mp4 → Crash in libavcodec.so.54.35.0@0x75a96 when playing mp4
Maybe i should add that i could play the video in mplayer on the same system. I could see it using ffmpeg and libavcodec to do so, so it seems not to be an issue with the library/codec (or ffmpeg). Firefox is the only one crashing on this. I also tried this in nightly with a new profile and in safe mode and it crashed the tab (Instead of the whole browser like in 46, which is something. But it still crashes).
Are you using ffmpeg or libav? Can you play it with ffplay or avplay?
Priority: -- → P2
Huh, i cannot play it using avplay (segfault). Ffmpeg tells me "Output file #0 does not contain any stream". Does that now mean it actually is an libav problem? Because i could play it in mplayer using libavcodec.
Mass change P2 -> P3
Priority: P2 → P3
