Sometimes when selecting aother tab with the tab list (the arrow at the right of the tab bar), the browser is correctly switching to that tab, however the tab bar isn't sliding to at the right position to show the current tab. Reproduced on Linux & GTK 3.20. This might be related to addons, however I'm as for now unable to reproduce it reliably even by deactivating/reactivating addons as it's not 100% reproducible. I did not manage to reproduce it on a new empty profile, but did not used it for a long time. Joined is an about:support result.

See also bug 1274592: Generally those behaviors can be seen in the same time.

I cannot reproduce this on Ubuntu 14.04 with latest Nightly 49.0a1, 20160526030223. Clement, are you using NoScript? Do you have pinned tabs? Please post your about:support.

Yes I use NoScript and as stated by Gijs in https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1274592#c2 this is probably related (both of these bugs often happens in the same time ). I do not use any pinned tabs.

Ok thanks for responding so quuickly. This is probably a dupe of, or closely related to, bug 1246349.

I once experienced this despite having e10s turned off. (I do have NoScript and pinned tabs) In my case, when it happened, the only way I found to get the tab strip to scroll to the selected tab was to use Ctrl+Shift+Up/Down.

NoScript 2.9.5.1 (current stable) is fully e10s-compatible and doesn't relies on any shim / CPOW anymore. Closing, feel free to reopen if symptoms are still reproducible.
