When receiving an "opaque" signed mail created by MS Outlook, Mozilla will only display the occurence of an attachement called smime.p7m. This used to work in the first Releases of Mozilla with S/MIME.
This is an example Opaque Signed Mail, viewable easily with Netscape 4.7, Outlook, openssl smime and older Mozilla Builds. The command in openssl: openssl smime -verify -in opaque_signed_mail.txt -CAfile root.crt
openssl smime -verify -in opaque_signed_mail.txt -CAfile root.crt

I'm using M0.9.8 on Linux and it is NOT working. ( Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:0.9.8) Gecko/20020204 ) Have you tried it with the attached certificate and the attached mail? If you want, I can send you such a mail (Outlook XP on Win2k)
