There doesn't seem to be a way to explicitly "log out" of an IMAP session once it's established without completely shutting down Mozilla. It would be nice if either there was an explicit menu option for this or the IMAP session would close down when the last Mail window was closed. Although in normal operation there doesn't seem to be a need for this, it would be extremely useful to have for at least two reasons... a) There are buggy IMAP servers which do bad things when more than one client is active for a given user id (WUimapd with some spool formats is a major offender) b) Debugging some kinds of client/server interactions would be a lot easier. Other IMAP clients I've tried also suffer from this deficiency, but for them this isn't a big deal because just exiting the client is equivalent. With Mozilla it seems there is not way to "exit" the mail client without completely closing down Mozilla including all the browser windows... which is more than a little annoying when some of those browser windows have the mail documentation I'm referring to to debug the IMAP problem! *grin*
This is pretty similar to Bug 87825, I think...

Does going Online->Offline->Online take care of it? Link icon in the very bottom right corner of mozilla next to the lock icon.
Looks really like a dupe. Nobody complained at least. pi *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 87825 ***
