We've had a couple bug reported about performance issues with migration (eg bug 1249008, bug 1272652). And performance has come up in previous code reviews, as importing lots of items can be a fair amount of work, but we don't really know how long it takes in the wild (highly variable based on user data and system performance).

Seems like it would would be a good idea to measure how long it's taking to run migration, to see if there's a lurking problem here?

Don't have cycles for this right now, can put it back on my queue if we think it's important after the funnelcake project about automigration has finished.
