User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:47.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/47.0 Build ID: 20160606114208 Steps to reproduce: - I removed pulseaudio, because I need a realtime sound studio setup. - I've restarted the system. - Configured Jack Audio Connection Kit to use ALSA driver. - Tested, if the sound configuration works in Linux Ubuntu 14.04 with: aplay -D pcm.jack audiofile.mp3 --> Result: Linux sound seems to be okay as I can hear sound. Actual results: No sound in Firefox anymore. a) With JACK server started, b) with JACK server stopped. Both doesn't plays sound in the Firefox Browser anymore. I tested the function of my sound card with: aplay -D pcm.jack audiofile.mp3 Result: The audio files plays and I can hear sound, the alsa sound configuration seems to be correct. Expected results: I would expect to have still sound in Firefox (I had it before I purged pulseaudio). I would expect, that I can configure Firefox which audio source it should use, for instance "JACK Audio Connection Kit". But I do not want to restart the application to have sound in Firefox.

Full jack support is on the way but not landed yet. I assign it to padenot since he handles Jack changes, for now at least. @padenot: feel free to redistribute it if you are not the right person.
