In Windows 10, the dialogbox on start, which is asking to set Firefox as standard app, is only starting the settings app. The user has to to several clicks.
It should be possible to do these settings with one click as before Windows 10. At least there should be a setting or commandline parameter documented, that could do the required settings in Windows.
Otherwise many users are overloaded and Edge will stay the standard on Windows 10 systems.

I believe that this is a restriction that Microsoft have built into Windows 10 as not to have apps install as defaults without the users permission. They have to actively assign apps as defaults as they want. I do agree this is a annoying feature.
When a user clicks "Yes, set Firefox as standard browser", this is nothing else than users permission.

No, it is impossible on Windows 10. Blame Microsoft. They intentionally blocks apps from changing Default Apps

...exactly because of this. US DOJ should sue Microsoft again.
So does this mean that we cannot resolve this problem then?
We have to wait untill windows fix it?

If Microsoft removes the restriction we will gladly implement this but until Microsoft does so Firefox will only open up the OS provided UI when setting as default.
