I'm runnign Mozilla on Linux, Windows, and MacOS (both 9 and X). In all versions
I have noticed that unlike Netscape 4.x, an article that has been crossposted to
multiple newsgroups is not marked read in all groups after reading. In NS4.X, if
you read an article/marked an article read in newsgroup A, and then accessed
newsgroup B that the same article had been crossposted to, the article would be
marked read in newsgroup B as well. But to date, it appears Mozilla doesn't do that.
To reproduce:
1. Subscribe to newsgroup X. Find an article crossposted to both newgroup X and
newsgroup Y and mark it read (either by reading it or with the "Mark as read"
command).
2. Subscribe to newsgroup Y. Locate the same article. You will note that when
doing this in NS4, that article will be marked as read. In Mozilla, it's marked new.
