This is a feature request: I only want endpoints in my awesomebar. Having intermediary URLs cluttering it up is less than ideal.

So: The Awesomebar would be a bit awesomer if shortened or intermediate URLs were excluded from its search results.

t.co, bit.ly, j.mp, there are a bunch of them. A list of them is here:

https://bit.do/list-of-url-shorteners.php
bug 737836 would already help a lot...

As new frecency data is being built, from now on you should see shortener urls lower in the urlbar compared to their targets. This is not a complete blacklisting of them, but should help a lot.

I honestly don't know if we want to go the complete exclusion path, it sounds complicate to maintain a list of shorteners and it could look bad towards them if Firefox excludes them completely from the UI just because they redirect. I think giving them a low weight works better in general.
For this reason I'm wontfixing this for the pure "exclusion" request. The bug as I see it should be fixed by frecency improvements though.

If you have further thoughts/ideas to share about this, feel free to report them for further evaluation.
