RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 1282830

People

(Reporter: steve, Unassigned)

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.11; rv:47.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/47.0
Build ID: 20160604131506
Firefox for Android

Steps to reproduce:

Having previously used tab queue, open firefox, & close a bunch of tabs. Cause the app to be evicted from memory by Android. Now open more links via tab queue, and launch Firefox (either from tab queue or the Android launcher.)

Actual results:

Firefox starts, then after a few seconds delay the new links are opened as tabs, but the previously-closed tabs are also re-opened.

Expected results:

Only tabs for the new links should have been opened.

Jan is this cleaned up with your work on session restore?

I don't think tab queues per se are to blame - I'm almost sure that this is Bug 1282830 and possibly a very slight bit of Bug 1284013, but most probably the former.
I.e. if you close some zombified tabs (and except for the foreground tab, all tabs restored on startup are delay loaded "zombie" tabs), no session save is triggered. So if you subsequently don't switch to a different tab, navigate to a different page, open a new tab, close a non-zombified tab etc. or do anything else which actually *does* trigger a save, those closed tabs will reappear if Firefox is killed.

Feel free to reopen and/or undupe if this is still reproducible on Nightly.
