Try this: 1) start composer and type some text 2) save the file 3) send the page using File -> Send Page 4) in the compose window doubleclick on the file to get the Link property dialog 5) change the Link location to another file say c:\boot.ini 6) send the page to your self which file or files do you expect that are attached? actually both of the files are attached.
When you attach a link to a local file, we send the source of the file as well in order to be sure the recipient will be able to see the file. I have already an other bug on that potential problem. What we should do is to warm or better ask the user a confirmation before sending the file as well

Dunno if this is the place to comment but ... This sending, as attachments, files that are linked (in the message body) using file:///j:blah/blah.doc, also occurs in mail. It occurs during send or save. Link converts to cid:part1.02020306.08090408@blah.com and this itsejf is unusable from the list (obviously). Huge problem - complete blocker for me as our internal majordomo lists reject mail with attachments and yet I cannot just send the link to the file because moz *automatically* attaches the file. V V bad behaviour. Hope there is a fix in the pipeline - I have to go reinstall netscape 4.x in the mean time. Jon
This problem will be fixed with bug 132257. The user will be able to send a local link without attaching the source to the message *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 132257 ***
