I have noticed that after upgrading to Firefox 47 on Ubuntu GNOME 16.04 with GNOME 3.20 that even though I have desktop notifications enabled for certain websites, I barely ever receive any desktop notifications for the events on them. This did not used to be the case in previous versions of Firefox. For instance in Gmail I have it set so that desktop notifications are displayed whenever I receive a new email, but I've barely had any desktop notifications at all, though many emails (I think I may have had one desktop notification, but I'm not even sure of that).

Could you find a regression range with the tool Mozregression (http://mozilla.github.io/mozregression/), please.

It should be easy to test by sending an email to yourself in Gmail.

Does this tool have to be used with Nightly builds or can it be also used with the stable Release version?

It's not very useful with release builds because the patches land in nighty builds first. And nightly becomes aurora then beta then release. So to know the regressing bug, you have to download and test nightlies, what does Mozregression.

Just run the command "mozregression --good=46 (or 45)" and copy the final pushlog from mozilla-inbound.

Sorry I did not get back to you, I had some issues with the tool and my computer. But the issue seems to have gone away in Firefox 48.
