We need to update the schemas to the changes from bug 1218576: https://github.com/mozilla-services/mozilla-pipeline-schemas/
:mreid, how do the schemas work with things that aren't in all channels? For instance, scalars aren't in many pings even now.

Right now the schemas are updated with optional values so that they also validate pings without the new info. It should work to expand a schema to include a new field as long as you do not set the field as required.
