The notifications showing that a new update is available for download while on mobile data, looks very similar to the one prompting to install the downloaded update. This similarity repeatedly cost me parts of limited monthly mobile data. And it lead to some confusion for my why the install dialog isn't showing.
(Observed on Fennec Nightly July 26, 2016, on Android 4.2.2)
Attachment shows both Notification alternating.
Could we indicate download and update in the icon used for additional feedback about the action?
Maybe add a down-arrow to the fox for download, and leave the install fox as is, or add a rotating arrow to it...

We have about ~2k users on these builds. The impact here is quite low (though it is unfortunate when it happens I'm on a 500 MB plan myself). A better path forward is getting Firefox Aurora/Nightly on the Play store bug 1241114

Thanks for filing this Markus! I'd really like to revisit these strings with Michelle when she gets the chance :)
(Ni-ing her so I don't forget)

Hi Anthony - taking a bit of time to look at this. My Android tablet is not on a mobile plan (only wifi) so I am not sure I understand the issue. Is the problem that the language is ambiguous about how much data you consume with download vs update?

It's mostly the fact that the language to separate two completely different things is so similar.
Touch to download (costs mb/kb) while Touch to install (doesn't cost a thing because it's already downloaded, presumably while you were on Wifi or something.)

When the update is available but not yet downloaded, display this notification:
Updates available for Nightly
Touch to download
When the update is downloaded but not installed, display this notification:
Updates downloaded for Nightly
Touch to install
