Details

Long term, we would like to decouple Fennec from GeckoView.  That
probably looks like migrating Fennec omni.ja resources out of the
omni.ja, which means that GeckoView will want its own omni.ja.  This
ticket tracks adding the new application flag (and confvars.sh,
branding, etc), separating out a new package-manifest.in, handling
l10n appropriately, etc.  In theory, if GeckoView handles the
.properties/.dtd l10n system entirely, Fennec's l10n could become a
layer of Android's l10n atop GeckoView, rather than being an
Gecko application itself.  That's a long way off, however!
