On a new Windows 10 laptop, an Alienware Razer Blade, I see graphics artifacts in Firefox (UI chrome and web content), but no other applications. Both Firefox 49 and Nightly 51 are affected. See the attached screenshot.

Thanks, NVD. I just installed the Windows 10 Anniversary update and the graphics artifacts seem to have gone away.

It's pretty disappointing that Firefox is almost unusable on a brand-new machine with the latest Windows 10 patches from Microsoft and the laptop manufacturer (AlienWare), when Chrome and Edge look just fine. If I wasn't a Mozilla diehard, I probably would have switched to Chrome on this laptop. :(

I do still see the WebGL2 Renderer errors in about:support:

(This is  problem with the Intel integrated graphics. Firefox doesn't seem to know how to use the discreet GeForce graphics chip. I had the exact same problem with my brand new Microsoft Surface Book laptop.)

Yes, Microsoft has confessed that they have/had a lot of problems with this batch of dual GPU machines.  They're slowly fixing them.

And, yes, we could just blocklist the whole generation of machines, but it isn't clear that we can detect what fixes the problems - I'm not sure it's always a different graphics driver version, rather than a Windows update.
