I've downloaded the unbranded "Firefox addon developer" linux version a few minutes ago. It starts up as "Nightly" with version "48.0". After waiting some time, this version asks me to restart to apply updates. After doing so, the "Addon developer version" starts up as "branded version" and no longer starts up my unsigned addon.
Expected behaviour: "Unbranded version" should update to new unbranded versions and not "migrate" to stable version.
Not sure where this belongs exactly, let's try add-on manager to start.

Manuel: what link did you use to download the addon developer build? This is unexpected behavior in current builds (was fixed in bug 1290548)
