Details

From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:0.9.9+) Gecko/20020308 BuildID: 2002030807 Users should be able to use a download manager more readily from mozilla. Perhaps a similar way to how Galeon does this. Have mozilla open an external program to handle the URL. ie. nt %s to use "Downloader for X" in linux. Currently is I set mozilla to use nt %s it opens Downloader for X after mozilla has downloaded the URL, there should be a way to have the external program handle (download) the url. This could possibly be used for other programs, ie streaming media. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Expected Results: When clicking on a url to download, a dialog box is shown that lets the user select how the downlod should be handled, ie ue external download manager, use mozilla to download, open with "applicatonx". Perhaps a checkbox to indicate if applicationx should download the file itself, or moz should download file then pass to applicatoinx.
This looks like a duplicate of bug 58744 but that bug appears to be rather Windows-centric.
over to filehandling, I guess we could make this a linux version of that bug
